Use the A62 introduction to check your understanding of the crane supervisor’s role. A useful study plan separates the agreed lifting method, the people carrying it out and the conditions at the worksite.
What to review
Make three lists: information the supervisor must understand, arrangements that must be communicated, and changes that need escalation. This is a more useful revision structure than memorising isolated answer phrases.
Include the boundary between planning and supervision. A supervisor should recognise when a proposed change requires the competent planning arrangements to be reviewed, rather than treating an on-the-spot guess as a new lift plan.
Check your understanding
- Can you distinguish planning from supervision?
- Who must understand the agreed method?
- Which changes would you raise before the operation proceeds?
A focused revision exercise
Explain a simple lift to a study partner and identify the points where you would need more information. Use the uncertainty to guide your next revision session.
