UK Road Signs Practice: 137 Revision Questions and a Better Study Method

This road-sign practice video gives you a large set of questions to work through at your own pace. Use it to identify signs you recognise, signs you confuse and the meaning behind each answer.

What to review

Start with a small group of questions rather than trying to memorise all 137 in one sitting. Pause before the answer, write your choice, and explain what the sign is asking a driver to do. An answer remembered without its meaning can be difficult to apply when the wording changes.

Organise mistakes by sign shape and purpose. Keep separate notes for orders, warnings, information and restrictions. When two signs look similar, compare them side by side in the current Highway Code instead of learning only the position of the correct option.

The 137 questions belong to this practice collection; they are not the length of the real car theory test. GOV.UK lists the car multiple-choice pass mark as 43 out of 50, and the hazard-perception pass mark as 44 out of 75. Both parts must be passed.

Check your understanding

  • Can you explain the sign without repeating the answer options?
  • Which detail distinguishes it from a similar sign?
  • What action would its meaning require on the road?

A focused revision exercise

Make a two-column error log: the sign you confused and the explanation you now understand. Revisit those entries after a break, mixing them with signs you previously answered correctly.
