Can you pass this 20-question HGV/LGV theory test? Watch the quiz below, pause before each answer and keep your score as you go.
Comment your score out of 20 on the video. If a question catches you out, note the topic and revise it again rather than simply memorising the answer.
How to use this HGV theory practice quiz
- Play the video and pause when each question appears.
- Choose your answer before the explanation is revealed.
- Give yourself one point for every correct answer.
- Write down the topics behind any incorrect answers.
- Repeat the quiz later and check whether your score improves.
This quiz is designed for UK HGV and LGV learners revising for the multiple-choice theory test. It can also help qualified drivers refresh important knowledge, but it is revision practice rather than official DVSA test material.
What should you revise after the quiz?
Do not focus only on the final score. The useful part is discovering which subjects need more work. Common areas include drivers’ hours and tachographs, vehicle loading and stability, braking distances, road signs, motorway procedures, vulnerable road users and safe vehicle checks.
If several mistakes come from the same area, revise that topic before taking another mixed quiz. This is usually more effective than repeatedly answering random questions without reviewing the explanations.
